Day 3 - Thousand Islands, Ottawa, Montreal

admin May 9th, 2008

At 6am this morning, we left Toronto East for Thousand Islands where we board a cruise. At first, I thought we were going to the beach and I was preparing myself to play with the sand and water - but when we arrived there, we found out that it was actually a very big lake. The islands were actually hills in a village. However, the village has been submerged under water since the north glacier has melted a few hundred years ago. Therefore, the islands that we can see were actually the top of the hills. There is also a huge beautiful castle in the middle of the gigantic lake!!!

It was awesome, right? After a cruise to visit the Thousand Islands, we left for Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It sounds kinda like a Japanese name, right? Anyway, in Ottawa, there is no factories or any companies besides governmental agencies - and of course, some shops. BUT, it was also hard for us to find any food vendor there. We were really hungry. The bus dropped us off in front of the Parliament Building (another one I suppose), and fortunately for us, they were having annual March for Life. There are several statues around the area.

After visiting Ottawa, we left for Montreal where we visited a Conservatory and also the Olympics Tower. The Olympics tower and stadium are very huge!! I wish Stevens has a gym as big as that - I promise I’ll go there every single day~!

At the consevatory:

After visiting the Olympics Tower, we left Montreal for Three River Village, which is situated between Montreal and Quebec. We ate dinner before going to the hotel. We’ll be leaving for Quebec and then back to Boston, USA, tomorrow.. I had so much fun time in Canada =)
