Already 3rd day!

admin January 10th, 2008

Well, yesterday (January 8, 2008), we went to Disneyland!!! I loved it but I was a bit disappointed though since it doesn’t look at all like what my mother showed me in the picture when I was 1 year old. My parents brought me to Disneyland about 20 years ago and it looks so different! Uwaaa! I thought I can mesmerize myself with nostalgia which I don’t even remember. Huhu..

The funniest thing happened. The second ride we were on, “Indiana Jones Adventure” suddenly stopped and there was a long wait. The speaker keep saying “Sorry for interruption”. At first, I thought it was just a gimmick and I was half-expecting someone with a sword would come out to scare us. But after 20 minutes has passed by, I know that it is a real breakdown. Imagine the ride broke when you in the middle of it!! Lol. It was fun though. A very expensive experience that not everyone can get. The workers came to us and helped us out to send us to the exit. Hhehehehe..

But overall, it was fun even though both Afiq and I had motion sickness. Both of us are so bad on roller coasters and transportation. We’ll just get dizzy and throw up. Not borned to be adventurous I think. But anyway, we met one Kuala Lumpur guy named Chong and one Singaporean guy. It’s a small world.. Chong was one of the members of our tour. He was so fun to be with and he avoids all tubulent rides because he said he’s already old. Lol. He didn’t look old to us though. Probably around 30.

And we really liked our tour guide. Paul is his name. He brought this Mickey’s sword everywhere so that we could see him. He always makes jokes and was really fun to be around with.

And then, today we left the hotel at 8.30am to go to Arizona. Particularly, Lake Havasu and London Bridge. I thought we were supposed to go to Las Vegas today and Arizona on the last day of tour but probably they changed the itinerary 180 degrees. So, we spent 8.30am until 6pm in the bus. We stopped for a while at 11am at an outlet center in Borstow, California - something like Woodbury. All around it is barren land - we’re in the middle of desert!! This is my first time at a desert so, I felt a bit excited. Then, we stopped at Lake Havasu and London Bridge at about 4pm. We stayed there for an hour.

London Bridge is famous because all the stones that are used to build London Bridge are imported from London. None of the stones are American. It went over the Colorado River which becomes the border of Arizona and Nevada (I hope I get this fact right — I’ll correct it if I found out that I’m wrong..hehe). After taking some pictures, we were on our way to Palm Beach Hotel in Nevada. There is a casino downstairs. My hands really feel ithcy wanna try one of those slot machines but I know that I won’t. I’ll just waste more money if I do and also invest in some sins. Hehe.

Tomorrow, we will wake up at 4am and leaves at 4.45am to go to Grand Canyon. Unfortunately, we are not going to the West Grand Canyon where there is a skywalk - since that package is a bit too expensive for us. We’re going to the South Grand Canyon which belongs to the National Park. So, we are going to a place pretty much untouched by human technologies. It’s gonna be fun!
