July 7 - Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure

Universal Studios is awesome! We were already excited when we entered the CityWalk - A big “Wow!” escaped from our open mouths. This area consists of 2 theme parks (Universal Studios & Islands of Adventure) plus a small modernized “town” called CityWalk. You’ll feel as if you’re already at another dimension or somewhere in the future. This area is totally cool and different from any other places we have ever visited before.

universal-globe.jpgWhen you step into the CityWalk, you’ll see nice modern buildings you usually see only in movies. Then, you’ll see a pond in the middle, separating the CityWalk and both of the theme parks. There is a small ferry operating for people who are lazy/tired to go around the pond to reach the parks. At the entrance of Universal Studios, you will see a huge globe with the word “Universal” like in the picture. Click on the picture to view it in its normal size.

hardrockcafe.jpgIn between of Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, you will see a huge Hard Rock Cafe, almost the same size as the Hard Rock Cafe in Baltimore, Maryland. I wonder why people really like Hard Rock Cafe. I got to know Hard Rock Cafe because almost all of my friends will go to this shop and buy some stuff when traveling even though the stuff are USD20+++. Why? Can somebody tell me??

Universal Studios consists of 3D Shows such as Terminator and Shrek, non-thrilling rides such as ET cycling to the moon and MIB laser war and some shows such as “Horror Makeup Show” and Fear Factor where real people take parts. For the Fear Factor, you can even volunteer yourself to join them! However, don’t ever ever volunteer to eat the yucky stuff. When we were there, 2 couples were challenged to eat rotten milk blendered with rotten tuna fish plus some still alive worms. Bluek! I nearly threw up even though I was just one of the spectators. Universal Studios is very suitable for all ages especially small kids who cannot ride roller coasters to parents and grandparents who cannot ride roller coasters. You’ll enjoy the show plus taking pictures around the “town”. Some of the buildings in Universal Studios were constructed as if it is 100 years. It’s awesome! You’ll definitely enjoy the rides, shows and taking pictures around town!

islands-of-adventure.jpgWe didn’t spend much time in Islands of Adventure since we were already too tired in the evening. However, right now, we really regret for not going onto any rides in Islands of Adventure since it looked so awesome! The buildings are like buildings that just pop out from a comic book. I really wish that Afiq and I will go to Islands of Adventure before going back to Malaysia for good. The rides in Islands of Adventure are basically thrill rides such as roller coasters, roller coasters and more roller coasters. Lol. It is suitable for those who like thrills.

islands-of-adventure-2.jpgCaution! If people say you can spend 1 day for both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure - they are totally wrong. Even though these parks are small (about a quarter of Disney World theme park’s size), you WILL want to try all the rides and all the shows since they are so unique and cool! (At least, they look cool) If you want to get the most out of your visit and your money, spend 1 whole day at Universal Studios and 1 whole day at Islands of Adventure. If you have to choose between both, choose according to your character. If you love thrillers, go to Islands of Adventure. If you hate roller coasters, then, go to Universal Studios.

islands-of-adventure-3.jpgAnyway, the moral of the story is, I really want to go back to Orlando to go to Islands of Adventure! Uwaaaaaa!
