July 6 - Animal Kingdom, Disney World

admin July 13th, 2007

Animal Kingdom is one of the four main Disney World theme parks. It was awesome!! I like this theme park a LOT. It is a mixture of zoo and theme park. You could walk around and greet the monkeys and ducks. When you’re bored and you need some thrill, you could go board some roller coasters. There are a lot of things to do in Animal Kingdom.

animalkingdom1.jpgThe picture on the left side is Yung, Afiq and Qayyum in front of the World Tree. Look closely at the giant tree. Isn’t it unique? It stood out majestically in the center of Animal Kingdom. However, the heavy rain in the evening ruined the fun a little. Nevertheless, I really love this one. Even Yaya told me NOT TO MISS OUT on Animal Kingdom. So, now it’s my turn to tell you DON’T MISS OUT on Animal Kingdom. If you could only choose 1 theme park out of all four, choose Animal Kingdom. It suits every ages from toddlers to grandpas. There are several thrill rides, animals, safaris and shows to enjoy!

Things you don’t want to miss in no particular order:

1) Everest Roller Coaster - this one made me dizzy, oh well, I’m always dizzy and have headaches. The roller coaster will even go backwards. Watch out!

2) Safari - I love this! If you’re lucky enough, the giraffe might come and greet you just right beside the vehicle. When we were there, some type of goat stand right beside us. We could even see lion just about 20 meters away roaming freely! I’m glad he wasn’t hungry enough to attack us. Or else, we would have been his dinner.

3) White water rafting - You are seated in a round boat with seven other people. You’ll go swish swish and you’ll come out soaked from head to toes! It was fun especially when it’s hot. Lol.

4) Finding Nemo the musical - Awesome Broadway-like show! If you watch this show, the $64 ticket to Animal Kingdom is well worth it! (Do you know average Broadway Show ticket prices are well over $100?)

5) Being a Bug is Tough - Nice 3D show with sprays and waters and crawling insects right under your butt! (not real insects, don’t freak out. Lol) This show teaches the kids and adults how much should we value the bugs and nature around us.

animalkingdom2.jpg6) Minnie Mouse Camp - If you do not go to Magic Kingdom to see Mickey Mouse and Friends, be sure to visit here so that you could meet up Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and the rest of the crew to take some valuable pictures!

There are more than 50 things that you can do in Animal Kingdom. Those 6 listed above are the-ones-that-you-must-not-miss. We would have gone on all the rides and attend all the shows available if it weren’t raining in the evening. I really enjoyed Animal Kingdom!

I rode a ride in Taiwan called the UFO. It is a disc that goes up slowly then when it reaches the top, 9.81 m/s2 going down! = acceleration due to gravity! Wooohhh!!!
