My aunt has reunited with her family!

I have just called my mom and as usual, we chatted about almost everything. However, this one news really interests me - my aunt has reunited with her family!

Malay couples looking after Chinese babies are quite common especially during the pre-independence times. And 3 of the Chinese girls being taken cared by Malays are my beloved mama and her sisters. May Allah bless my grandmother for taking good care of them =) And there is a hikmah behind this - Allah wants them (and me) to become Muslims!

A couple of days ago, my aunt received a letter from her family and asking her permission to meet. Of course, who wouldn’t be excited to know who her real family is? So, they met up and they treated her like a super star! They brought her to their family’s houses and introduced her to her cousins, nephews, nieces, etc. Just name it. However, the only downside of it is she was not able to meet her real mother since her real mother has passed away.

My aunt is the first one from left (sitting down).

Her brother who looked all over for her told the real story of why they had to give her away.

That time was the days of the Japanese in Malaya. They had 10 siblings - my aunt was the youngest one and she was still a baby. Since Japanese hunted for Chinese, this big family has to run away and hide for safety. To make things worse, their father had been taken away by the Japanese. However, since my aunt is still small, it will be hard to run away. She might also get sick. Therefore, they made the decision to ask a Malay couple (my grandmother and long-gone grandfather. Innalillahiwainnailaihirajiun) to take care of my aunt. My grandparents took great care of her until she became a successful lady now. Alhamdulillah..

I am very touched from the story told and I am grateful to Allah since from this story, everything that has happened in our life has meanings and secrets which is always a benefit that Allah arranges for us.
